The entire way she is presented to the public is a stereotype. Go to photobucket and search for "Jessica Alba", and you'll see what I mean. She's bronzed and covered in makeup to the point of looking animatronic, just like other models in her league, and what most girls aspire to be. It's just gotten to where she is so covered in beauty supplies and photoshopped pictures to look more beautiful that it becomes overwhelming; she looks more like a doll than a woman, and it's not attractive to me.

so you're saying if she were uglier you'd like her better. i bet you're probably just jealous because she's a beautiful woman that a lot of girls look up to and, to be frank, you're probably not as attractive as her which makes her intimidating to u. and so she uses makeup. thousands, if not millions, of girls do. it's not a symbol of insecurity or anything. it's more a symbol of wanting to look beautiful and just adding more color to your life. or even the natural look which REQUIRES makeup.

First, if you feel a natural look requires makeup, you must know some really, really unattractive people. I happen to think girls look their best when they have little to no makeup on. I'm not saying that I'd like her if she was uglier; I am saying I think she's ugly already. Her look doesn't define "beauty"; it's a social construct that I personally find gross. If girls want to play into that stereotype, fine; and, by saying millions of girls do it, you've admitted to it being a stereotype.

lolwut? I never said you didn't know what beauty is; I implied that beauty for you is different than beauty for me, but I guess that went over your head. It's OK if we both have different opinions on beauty; mine is that she is way too dressed up and made up. Websters says "stereotype" is: a simplified and standardized conception or image held in common by members of a group. You, and "ALL THE OTHER COMMENTS ON THIS PAGE ZOMG!!!" are the group, our society, specifically, and Alba is your image.

Also, saying "everybody thinks she's beautiful" and then "it's not a stereotype" is a complete and utter contradiction. You can't say something is both a popular ideal and not a stereotype; by definition, it can't be one and not the other. And, my opinion, which is what started this, is that she's ugly. You can't logically argue that she is both the ultimate image of beauty and NOT a stereotype, since that's what a stereotype is. You can't really argue with my opinion, since its just an opinion.

So, 2 long posts made short: 1) By saying she's loved by all as "beautiful" does, by definition of "stereotype", make her one. 2) My opinion is that she's ugly. You don't have to agree, but that's my opinion. And, of course: I simply MUST be jealous of girls like Alba, since it's COMPLETELY impossible for me to have any other reason for simply disliking their image other than being JEALOUS (end sarcasm).

And, one last note; I don't have much loneliness to compensate for, since I have a very beautiful girlfriend. =] But, thank you for your concern over my personal life and other things completely unrelated to this original argument; In sticking with that tangent, I can bet you're TOTALLY not a bitch in real life, and that ALL your significant others think you're beautiful, even if you only look like yourself, and not like you're trying to imitate Alba (whoops, more sarcasm).

I understand what your saying about her being too made up. But in her business you kind of have to be. I personally respect woman who don't wear makeup or don't wear much. That takes courage and conviction. Also women look great without makeup. Sorry I just can't over how beautiful she is, call me weak, but it does tend to make up for other deficiencies.

Nah, I don't think you're weak. I never meant to imply that it was wrong to think she is hot, I just made a comment that I did not personally find her good looking in any way. I don't even have a problem with her choice to be that way, if it's what she's passionate about (though she's still ugly to me). The only problem I have is when people make women believe (and when women impose the idea on themselves) that they must conform to her image as if it's the only standard of beauty out there.

i care if someone says that she's made into a stereotype and that her beauty is unattractive. it's such a contradiction that made no sense and then me thinking sojoboro is just jealous of her. that's how it all began =p
