he left because he felt he was weaker than naruto and at that time REALLY wanted power. but then orochimaru took this to his advantage and said he would train him so he excepted so he could become powerful and get revenge and kill itachi. so he ditched the village.

Because of Itachi! More like his past. He just felt like power was all that mattered, because Itachi said he didn't have hate which made Sasuke think he needed power and hate...duh!! xD; Anyway, yeah, he knew Orochimaru had what he wanted, and he was offering, so he took! The sadest part of it, is he left all his memories od Naruto and Sakura behind him. But he looked like in Shippuden he remembered them again. Like he felt bad or something ... :/
