No it does not make it right. But right or wrong does not bring her back from the dead. What would have prevented it is if she did not go out to the casino and bar. Or if her mom did not let her go. The judgement is better on the mother than the child. Therefore, it is up to the mother not to let her go. You must protect your children from dangerous situations. Who knows she may have been given a date rape drug. The point, it is a dangerous area and keep your kids out of such dangers.

If it was a class trip, where were the adults supervising these children? Just because a bunch of kids from the same class go to Aruba, that does not make a school event. My point in all of this is, adults must supervise children when they want to go dangerous places. If they do not, then they are at fault for not doing their parental duties. I say no to my two daughters every day. I put my judgement over their judgement. The mother in this case must be at least partly to blame for this.

I agree on that you should protect your children. Like i said earlier, i think there is a cultural difference here. Here a lot of kids go to spain to get drunk for a week or so. Parents might not always be stronger and in power to say no. When they are small afcourse. But when they grow up it gets harder. This case can be an example for your kids to show that they have to take care and be responsable for them self.

I agree that danger is everywhere. That is exactly why you do not expose them to situations that elevate the level of danger. Drinking in an unknown area, underage drinking, leaving with people you don't know, exposing them to areas where date rape drugs are used, etc, etc. You must agree that the mother did not use good judgement here. I think a lot of her anger towards the police are anger she feels within herself.

Unfortunatley people like that exist and it is hard for parents these days. I have two daughters myself.
In this would, bad judgements (by the mother, friends, Natahlie) sometimes get you killed.
In civil law (not criminal law) the mother and the friends would be found partially at fault here.

I am just very frustrated at this whole thing. There are parents still sending kids to Mexico (and other countries). There was a documentary that showed there are men in Mexico who rape these girls and still the parents send them.
