American comedy is pretty lame. Seinfeld is probably the best America has got but even he is not that funny.
Before you go ahead and mark this as a 'poor comment' I suggest that you watch The IT Crowd. That's what comedy should be like. By the way, IT Crowd is all shared on YouTube.

First, we're talking stand up here, not sitcoms or even any TV-show. Second, if we _are_ talking TV-shows, the IT Crowd? Really? It's a terrible example. The Office, Coupling, Cold Feet, Extras, Little Brittain or whatever would be better examples.
Britcoms are great - but Brittish stand up isn't necessarily better than American.
Seinfeld and Larry David are in my mind the strongest two people in comedy.

That's just non-sense. Sitcoms are not a whole different class of comedy. You're mistaken if you think so. Jokes used in sitcoms can be told in stand-ups and vice versa and it won't seem odd. That's what Ray Romano did when he was on Letterman.
If you find what Seinfeld is saying here funny, then you are just like the people sitting in Letterman show. They will laugh at anything funny as long as it is followed by a long pause.
