Sam Harris made an excellent speech. The label "atheist" is both from a philosophical and strategical point of view disadvantageous and as meaningless as "non-astrologist". Atheists need to appear in the spirit of intellectual honesty, reason and evidence based thinking, rather than in mere opposition to something. This more profound position is much more difficult to attack than a label which fundies happily abuse to fill with strawmans in order to avoid the burden to respond to arguments.

fuck that woman is annoying. If she can be an atheist, anyone can. Is that a good thing? I used to think I was in some sort of elite, but this ladies voice is more annoying than Sarah palins, and she is mental. Atheism, for me is a no brainer, but she ahs done well to take it up, I guess then she is a good example to the stupid.

Some people refuse to be quieted by fear of what may happen if they speak out. Thank goodness for people like him and people like Ayaan Hirsi Ali who are willing to talk and debate and go against the grain in the name of truth DESPITE the risk it brings to their lives!

Would any religious figure sit down with Sam Harris unless they were 100% sure in their faith? Anyone with a rational would have trouble defending their faith if only they could look outside of their own little box. And those people who really are dead set in their religion are not going to persuaded by some atheist on the internet.

Sam, like Pharaoh encountering Moses, has no argument. There is no "sit down", as if there's a grand buffet of possible "truths". Sam, a fallen sinner like Pharaoh, has one correct option.. ..compliance. "And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe
on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.." (Ac 16:30-31) :-)

Sam is a chemical-onlyite. He has chemical "thoughts" that rally around other chemical "thoughts". This is done by the Sam-entity chemically utilizing chemical "faith". His chemical "thoughts" simply constain no chemical "substance". Thus, the need for REAL FACTS and PROMISES and COVENANTS and
OATHS found in the Bible. God requires FAITH in HIS FACTS, FIRST. Spiritual reality is foundational to natural reality. :-)
