This, as far as I know, is the only man on the republican stage that recognizes the concept of "blowback". I'd say that puts him in the visionary category and leaves the rest of em looking a bit loony.

What is more important Russert? Ron Paul's analysis of the fractional reserve banking system or some thing he said to some reporter in 1988?
True, I'm not ... ( 7 months ago by InTheSticks1881)
True, I'm not familiar with Tim Russert. Just like a good attorney, he did a good job of putting the defendant on the spot with what little he had, yet Ron Paul did an equally good job of defending himself. Does anyone think that their candidate would have the courage to face this kind scrutiny? Whether he is liked or not, he is the candidate with the cleanest background, and an usually consistent record. Even though RP is transparent, I sure Russert still had to work hard.
As his kind serves ... ( 7 months ago by InTheSticks1881)
As his kind serves a function, I was being kind to Russert. I would prefer a Charlie Rose styled interview. However, being on the program does help RP with his first tier status, and he did well. We desperately need Ron Paul, the only candidate with the understanding and integrity to guild us though the coming economic meltdown. Look up on YT, an investment firm's presentation and predictions which echo Ron Paul's warning. U.S. Economy and Financial System Bankrupt --What's next?

Paul's only pothole ... ( 7 months ago by marcparella)
Paul's only pothole was on earmarks. He proposed millions for his district. Regardless of how he voted, you can't make a credible case against the use of earmarks when in fact you propose them.

Earmarks exist. ... ( 7 months ago by mysticnurse)
Earmarks exist. Therefore, as a man of the people, Ron Paul has to make sure that HIS people get their share. Earmarks that contain kickbacks, such as the kind OTHER politicians use, are sleazy. Not putting earmarks in the bills that benefit the people he represents, is like YOU saying, go ahead IRS and keep my return, you can give it to the big corporations.
Sorry it is ... ( 7 months ago by marcparella)
Sorry it is hypocritical. You can't say you are against earmarks at the same time you propose them. Also, Ron Paul is not the Man of the People. He is not a populist. He is a Limited-Government Constitutional Conservative. Far from a Populist. A Populist is someone who uses government to take care of immediate social and economic means.

ron paul's policies actually help the people in the long run unlike socialist populists

Come on USA, we need Ron Paul. Canada needs you to vote for Ron Paul, just like YOU need us to vote for the CANADIAN ACTION PARTY. WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER: AGAINST THE BANKERS, AGAINST THE N.W.O.!!! "A country not in control of its currency is not a sovereign country." The 'Federal Reserve' is a PRIVATE COMPANY, it is NOT RUN BY YOUR GOVERNMENT. The IRS is a collection agency for this private company. Watch "Money Masters" and the N-A-U if you don't believe me.

There's an inherent contradiction in his job as a congressman. Indeed, in every congressman's job. You exist both as a member of the federal government itself and as a delegate of those who elected you, and have a simultaneous conflict in interest between the nation and your district. I wouldn't be so quick to condemn him over that.
It's weak. John ... ( 7 months ago by marcparella)
It's weak. John Shaddegg of Arizona never proposed earmarks and there are other house representatives who have taken a similar policy. I am going to vote for Paul, but I won't march in step when he is wrong on an issue.

I thought it was a good interview. Tim even caught Dr. Paul in his own words a couple times, reminding us to support the principle before the candidate.
