ok juan now I've bin Training my vocals for about 9 years now and sings in a quire for adults... but im only 14.
this guy CAN sing. give him 3 half an hour lessons and he will have the technique.
he is not in the same leage of Pavarroti....YET
one day he will be there. He has a EXTREME talent. Think of the fact that he has not had ONE lesson EVER!! And btw you are NOT the right person to judge him... the same is about Merlin. So screw you becouse he IS good.

I actually agree with Juan on this. From what you say, I am aloud to say what I want because I do get up on stage and perform. I have experince and my masters in vocal performance and as nice a guy as Paul might be, he really is nothing that special vocally. He has a nice tone and has strong potential, but there are many many flaws and many pros that are much more polished.

merlin. How many times have you dissed Paul Potts now on different sites, why the hate and jeaulousy, are you an opera person. Pauls is much better singing the power songs than these type of songs, Brindasi withe Paul and Natasha, Granada North Fork Theatre NY, although taken with mobile phone incredible, just let him get a fraction of Pavarotti training, he is just starting out, in concert live amazing.

That's incorrect. Both Crawford and Potts have serious vocal flaws that their fans lovingly overhear. (Fine!) What about Crawford's warbled vowels, his tendency to scoop high notes, to sound nasal when a ringing forte is demanded? As for Potts...his placement is messed up (In the throat), his breath control is seriously off and his dramatic insight is seriously lacking here. But fans always hear what they want to hear.

Damn it, he's singing it in an awesome way with so much feelings, though he's not acting in the musical or in the film, and those people to who you compare him do! They have years to practice the song, and the whole story, and his version is so beautiful, so stop mourning about his pronounciation and stuff like that!

Oh, I love Crawford's MOTN, esp. the live recordings. My personal favorites are: Peter Karrie (Most colorful, intense and vocally thought through performance), Ian Jon Bourg (A vocal powerhouse!), John Owen Jones (A powerhouse as well), Earl Carpenter (Tender and dramatic), Michael Crawford (Soothing and tender), Gerard Butler (Wounded, intense and gripping)....LOTS of Phantoms!^^

Michaels MOTN is also definetly Dramatic and has power but he doesn't forget the passionate and tender part. Thats what I like about Michaels rendition over everybody elses...he mixes in the best elements into one performance. Thats what I'm missing from Paul even though I like his singing in general.

Who cares if he isn not a professional...he is emotional and he makes people feel this. So, all the others who are just running their mouthes ...be quiet and sing yourself a song like Paul.
