yeah the big douche looking guy next to emile was kind of pissing me off. when he was like "o, obviously did'nt know what he was getting into in that scene" it made me so fucking mad. they obviously didnt research this story at all because chris knew exactly what he was getting into. the whole point of the trip was to exhibit himself to danger; an adventure. No one can really understand chris without reading at least into the wild, and a little bit of thoreau and tolstoy would help too.
