Pointing out a typo? (Appluases)... yet for obssesion with proper syntax, you still can't read context. Inbreds American in their shallow 'market place of ideas' not in actual practice. Some people just can't recognize the constraints of western hegemony, let alone system that cannot sustain itself long term. His estimates on deaths from "communism" are highly exaggerated. Even all of the unnatural deaths in the USSR ever wouldn't be 95 million--and this would include deaths resulting from the Russian Civil War and World War Two, which could not reasonably be attributed in entirety to "communism". 20-30 million is more accurate and the upper threshold is around 50 million.
I'll never understand why right-wingers make up numbers on this issue when the real numbers are already so large...

Are you criticizing the Market Capitalism or Hegemony? Hegemony is an International construct between political bodies through the utilization of duress.
Market Capitalism is a construct between individuals through the utilization of trade. These are two mutually exclusive concepts. Which system are you saying won't last long term?

Yeah, you're right, what an idiot. Making a moral equivalence of killing 95 million with 20 million shows an utter lack of understanding. After all, 95 million is almost 5 times more people than 20 million. Even a total nincompoop can see that killing 5times more people is 5 times more evil.

Hegemony is ideological dominance that is cultural and non-military. It is how dominant groups (the hegemon) maintains consent. Western hegemony is a form of cultural imperialism that is interwoven with market capitalism (manufacturing consent of bourgeois values). These terms are many things, but not mutually exclusive.

Using the word "dominate" is an inappropriate emphasis, and certainly "cultural Imperialism" is, with regards to economics. Hegemony is innately political because only force or the threat of the use of force can constitute hegemony. Gramsci was being oxy moronic.
Take a concept as pervasive as humans rights. It's like saying "look at the cultural imperialistic paradigm of human rights." It makes no sense to call an idea imperialism just because it is adopted by numerous societies.

Hegemony is about establishing dominance of an ideology, its entirely appropriate. Western hegemony is concerned with reproducing western values (which are capitalist) in foreign markets. Lets take a realistic look at the concept of human rights. Is the motivation for the war in Iraq about establishing human rights or opening up foreign markets for exploitation? Yes, it can be be true that you can try to forcefully establish capitalism as an ideology, but it still takes a Political and most likely a military apparatus to do so. What I am trying to discern is whether you are speaking about a situation like Iraq, or a situation like India. India may be influenced by British colonialism but they attempted Maoism (post British) and now they have determined to become capitalist themselves.
