This was my brother's favorite song. Shortly before my dad died in 1992, he told my brother that this song was special because it reminded him of their relationship. Kaare became a Mike and the Mechanics convert, blasting the song on his car stereo and singing LOUD and CLEAR. My brother passed away last year. This will always be a tear jerker.

This song ran through my head when I last talked to my dad. I didn't know it was our last time talking but I was afraid it was because he had cancer. I was afraid of my dad dying without knowing I loved him and this song reminded me to tell him. I told him and turns out he died soon after that.

I cry every time I hear this song. I was there, that day, in another room (my bedroom), when my father died (downstairs), after I had gone to the chemist to pick up the fatal dose of morphine to help him on his way to escape a horrible cancer. I now have two young boys and every time I see that image of a father with his son looking over a grave, with little comprehension of how much love there for him from his father, He will only realise when it is too late..good song and good lyrics.
