Turkeys have feelings and thoughts too... they deserve as much of a chance at life as other animals do. It wouldn't be fair to give them a live one - even if it would be 'more entertaining' for them. The cats already have plenty of enrichment at the sanctuary - like pools, toys, ice, and things to climb on.

It is never a matter of win or lose for us it is a matter of win or lose for the animals in the end. Don't feel bad, we all have to learn some time. Many of us thought just like you BEFORE we learned different. It is up to you what you do with what you learn. No one is born knowing it all, (although some think they were). ..SMILE.. Until I was first introduced to Big Cat Rescue years ago, I had never heard of tigons either. My first 'time' spent with Big Cat Rescue was literally DAYS pouring through the thousands of pages on their website. The white tiger stuff really floored me. Learning that & then searching to see the truth for my self has totally changed the direction of my life forever. But, like you, I had to learn. Unfortunately, I wasn't born, knowing it all even if sometime I think I do and often wish I was.

That frozen turkey might fill up the stomach of a lion/tiger, but there's no nutrition in it at all. Can't be comparative with the foods they got in the wild.

watcha mean? these turkeys are fed well and contain almost everything a big cat needs. red meat is always worse than white meat. and wild meat is always worse than range fed meat.
