you guys are idiots, take a look in any anatomy and physiology text book and read up on why hearts are covered in fat...you might just find that adipose tissue is one of the best shock absorbing tissues in the human body, and seeing that the heart is the hardest working organ in your body that consistently has to deal with sustaining a heart beat, might need a little something to absorb shock

its actually not that confusing, my mom is a nurse and i was able to go and see open heart surgery like this through the observation deck like in greys anatomy. what they do is they crack the patients sternum and then pry it open with a crank, then the heart is just to the left.
