Orochimaru is so awesome. He deservees to be Hokage. Its clear he's the strongest of the three sannin, he beat the hokage and the kazekage. So yeah he's the greatest, Enjoy!
for your information orochimaru didn't defeat the third when he left the village... the third leted him live just watch the episode where the third fights him and more 2 kages...andyou will see orochimaru kills 2 anbus and the third didn't do nothing becouse he didn't want to kill his student

more...pein has rin'nengan (or whatever is it spelled) that special eye that only he have pein, and more pein hasn't shown himself yet...you realise that those corpses that fough jiraya are not him...i am thinking that pein has the power of all those corpses together...more jiraya never fough orochimaru in senin mode...jiraya lasted long vs pein..and probably could kill sasuke without the mangekyu like sasuke killed orochimaru...on that lv jiraya could kill him and orochimaru.

i don't wanna compaire between pein and oro cuz we didn't see their true power oro never fight healthy with an intent to kill and pein we just don't know how far can he go but i can safely say that nothing pein showed in his fight with jiraiya can kill oro

orochimaru is the fave student of sandaime hokage bcuz he is genius and very skilled and talented shinobi and You think Sasori is stronger than Orochimaru?! When they were partners in Akatsuki, Sasori hated Orochimaru, because he always was a leader in their pair. In 42 Shippuden episode Kabuto is talking with Sakura and Yamato. He said that Sasori hadn't been able to stand against Orochimaru and was waiting for the moment when somebody will kill him.

Remember during the three sannin fight, Jiraiya was still under the influenced of the venom tsunade gave him, Tsunade herself was under the influenced of hemophobia. While orochimaru had kabuto on his side, a ninja on kakashi's level. Plus i dont doubt if tsunade is a lot weaker than the other two sannins.
Jiraiya is definitely stronger.

1) Jiraiya was poisoned by Tsunade and hadn't used Sannin mode.
2) Itachi wasn't tired after he cut off Orochimarus arm. Oro wanted Sasuke, since he couldn't stand agaisnt Itachi. That's sad.
3) Sasuke didn't kill him ... he was already dying. He didn't hurt Sasuke because he wanted Sasuke to use up all his chakra so Oro would be released. He one shotted Oro .... again. That's sad.

There is no comparison beteewn Oro and Madara.He was no match for even Itachi.And Jiraiya clearly says that he can take on both Kisame and Itachi head on.Orochimaru is a cool character but he is not so strong.
