This old tv commercial is totally unbelievable! In the Flintstones' first season on ABC, the original sponsor was Winston Cigarettes. If they tried this today they would have a riot on their hands!

people get cancer while they still smoke and cancer isnt just normal growth its caused by a mutation of the genetic material of a cell often caused by smoking , by your logic getting a scratch would cause cancer

Some people posting don't know anything about it, You get lung cancer by exposing respiratory cells to the chemicals found in cigarettes, it has nothing to do with "Damaged lungs" and the lungs trying to repair itself.

People knew for a long time that cigs were bad for the health, but they did it anyway. I suppose you could compare it to fatty foods today. The view was that health-choices should be left to the individuals.
