i have seen 3 versions of "devdas",all of them full of poetry and wonderful atmosphere,but i have to say that chandramukhi-madhuri dixit is much more than any expectations. I liked vijayantimala in this role,but chandramukhi-madhuri is so warm and misterious... I think madhuri really loved this role,as she could create such a chandramukhi!

You said it! Madhuri just brought this role to full life & transformed it. I think she said in an interview when Aaja Nachle was first coming out that playing Chandramukhi was her favorite. She gave a tremendous Oscar-worthy performance. :)
