Well the young Afrikaner girls all think a guy who speaks in English is "cool". Where did I read that .. something about a girl saying something to a guy in Afrkaans, and he answered in English--which she thought was "cool". Unfortunately, English is the International Language, and most of the world's store of knowledge is in English. If Afrikaans Folks resist it, they are in peril of being unable to see a realistic map of life in the world as it really is, not what they'd like it to be.
