Since 1908, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Council of Los Angeles has helped improve the dignity and quality of life for thousands of disadvantaged and homeless children, women and men in the counties of L.A., Ventura and Santa Barbara. This has been accomplished through the following: its daily emergency assistance from 1,800 year-round 'Vincentian' volunteers who make home visits using their personal vehicles; its Cardinal Manning Center (shelter) in LA's Skid Row; its emergency winter shelter in West Ventura County; and its Circle V Ranch Camp in Santa Barbara for disadvantaged children and at-risk youth.
