This is the first I've heard of Mr Ryan and he absolutely rocks. This is a great song. The young man is in the best tradition of Southern-bard-anarcho- rouge-nape story tellin' rockers. This song floored me when I first heard it. I'm a huge MR fan. I have all his albums. One of the only artists that when I hear he has a new one - I'm there to buy it right away.
His latest "from a late night hi-rise" is awesome. Including a great version of "Providence".

How nice to see a video for this song. A co-worker of mine recently turned me on to Matthew, and I've become a die-hard fan since, snatching up all of his older CDs one by one and trying to find whatever else of his I can. Can't wait for the new MRVSS CD to drop! Matthew Ryan rocks!

Just became aware of Matthew Ryan. I recently came across his rendition of "Little Drummer Boy" truly unique it's become one of my favorite versions , style of the song a little Bob Dylan like. I would love to add it to my play list . If someone has it could they please post it, I would really appreciate it allot. I knew this guy had talent and vision when I heard this song. Once I saw the video, I knew one more thing about him: he's batshit crazy. The body language cues are classic for a person trying really hard to hide the fact that they're hearing voices. Take my word for it or show it to your favorite mental health worker. Once you know what you're looking for it sticks out like a sore thumb. Puts the lyrics into perspective, as well.
