Truly Spielberg's most underrated film, even in his own books. I don't think even he realized how much of an impact this had on kids in my generation. I'm turning 23 this year and love this movie to death, God only knows how many times I watched it as a kid. The soundtrack especially sticks with me today, I often catch myself whistling the main theme at work.

I don't think this movie was meant to be a big work of art. It was meant to be something fun and entertaining. In my opinion, it got the job done, so it's a complete success.

To be quite honest i think this trailer is terrible and doesn't do the film justice.
I've watched this so many times since I was a kid and still LOVE it, particularly because of John Williams' soundtrack.
But this trailer simply does not 'sell' the movie well enough. The choice of scenes included in it is very ordinary, and it does not contain one bar of John Williams magical score to the film :(

It was only recently that I heard people say ANYTHING bad about this movie.. it's ridiculous. All my life this has been one of the biggest movies to impact my childhood. I am now 20 and STILL think this is one of the greatest movies of all time.
