I was 8 years old when this film came out, and I've been obsessed with it ever since — even though I'm not a "car guy"!
I've watched the DVD at least 237 times (wore out one table-top player) and loaned it to everybody I know.
It's just the most perfect capturing of an experience on film that I've seen — probably because of the distinct lack of unnecessary dialogue. The "drama" is the race itself.
