really? i think the lyrics are pretty clear. it's just an extended metaphor comparing the washing of clothes to a relationship. "careless in our summer clothes, splashing around in the muck and the mire..fell asleep with stains, caked deep in the knees, what a pain...now hang me up to dry, you wrang me out too too too many times...now hang me up to dry, i'm pearly like the whites, the whites of your eyes....All mixed up in the wash hot water bleedin' our colors..."

I can not wait for their new album. As soon as their first was released I about wore it out in the first week. Shame though, they went on tour with the White Stripes, which I was going to, and The Stripes cancelled. :( The Malloy Bros. did such a great job with this video.
