i had menigitus when i was seven and one of my friends and her mum both had it as well. luckily, all three of us survived with no long term effects but we need to tell everyone of the risks so it happens to as few people as possible. thanks for this video- you're a real hero for putting this up

i had Meningitis when i was two months old. at the time it was still new and i died twice. only effect i got from it was a deaf ear. (my right) the doctors said if i was diagnosed with it just 5 years later. i wouldnt have had any chance

I had meningitis November of 07. I was in the hospital for 4 days..It was not fun. At one point my heart rate had dropped drastically and I was dizzy and sick. The first day they did a spinal tap and they tried aprox. 4 times sticking me wiht a needle. The next day they had to try again with a x ray machine. Again it's horrible. I wasd scared. But here I am.

I contracted meningitis at 9 months of age so I don't remember what it was like but my mother says it was bad.I didn't have any long term side effects but a friend of mine had it as a child and she is deaf in one ear now. This is a serious disease.

I contracted meningitas on January 4th 2000. I lost most of my eyesight and my carreer as a musician. I was in the hospital for almost 2 months and was on death watch for 2 1/2 days. I'm lucky to be alive. I'm now legally blind and suffer from many after effects.
DO WHAT YOU CAN TO PROTECT YOURSELF. IT ALMOST KILLED ME AND TOOK AWAY MY ABILITY TO DO WHAT I WANT. FOR GOD'S SAKE, PROTECT YOURSELF.

i had bacterial meningitis myself in feb 2007, i was a fit healthy 17 year old! thers no injection to stop you from getting the menincocal septicima, just a injection from the others! thats why is so important to find a vacine! xxx

I have been homeschooling my daughter (13 yrs old) for 5 years, and she has hardly been sick at all. We have enrolled her in some classes for additional help before high school. After watching this video, I am beginning to wonder if that was a good idea. It now seems that there is more to worry about than bullies. It looks like a trip to the doctor is in order.
