I know y'all are gonna yell "racist" at me for this but the problem with Christina and many other white singers is that they knock themselves out trying to be soulful on songs that black singers sing with lots of feeling but in a more relaxed and natural manner.Like Etta vs. Christina here, Big Mama Thornton vs. Janis on "Ball and Chain" and lots of others. They just need to be themselves, be natural and not equate "soul" with "belting." They can cover black songs and sound nice without yelling!
