Well I've gotta say that the album version of this song is one of the best songs ever made. This live version is good, kinda builds up nicely, but I prefer the original.
In fact all the songs off the Jars of Clay (self titled) platinum album are amazing. Easily one of my favourite all time albums. Unfortunately what I've heard from them after that isn't anywhere near as good, IMMO atleast, so I haven't bothered with anything after their first release.
That first album is pure gold though!

i've always thought they were christian.. esp this song he "looks away from the empty cross, wipe away the crison stains,dull the nails that still remain" (jesus's blood) this song is a struggle about a person realizing that Jesus paid alot for our sins, so that if we believe in what he clams to be, he gives us the gift of eternal life.

I have to say that I love this song, it's one of the few that I like to listen when I'm questioning my faith. Great performance as well.
