A Tribute to The Beatles
Part of the annual Trinity Valley Exposition is the Baby Parade. Children can be no older than 5 years to enter. It was 1984, the theme was "A Walk Down Memory Lane". What was more perfect than the Beatles' 20th Anniversary in the US. We absolutely had to create a float for our children and, of course, in honor of the Beatles.
The kids had a great time. We pulled the stereo out of my MGB and hooked it up to the float, so we could play Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club and With a Little Help From my Friends. There are two - 2 year olds, a 4 year old and a 5 year old. Our float placed First in the Non-Commercial Float D ivision. And the Lead Singer, won Best Costume (Hint-the lead singer is my son). We were able to pay tribute to my favorite band ....The Beatles....Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison.
