Listen, I am happy for the guy. However, that was not Nessun Dorma. I don't feel the need to point out all of the mistakes the people that know opera know what they are. That being said he is brave and really tried his best. This piece demands a solid well trained technique. He did very well with what he's got. At least it was not Michael Bolton singing it.......

Now, here's what an opera house can state in its season subscription brochure, to end ALLLLL of its financial woes: "Paul Potts will be singing the part of Rodolfo."

I will agree with others that it is definitely not as good as Pavarotti, but Paul is continuing in the same vein as Pavarotti. I think it was Pavarotti's primary goal to bring opera to the masses and Paul Potts has done just that by choosing to perform this style of music on a show of this caliber (not as big as American Idol, but in my opinion a better show). Though not as talented as Pavarotti, Paul is an excellent choice for the next face of opera.

sptacek. Who are you agreeing with?, Pavarotti fans. Paul has as much talent as Pavarotti, he was training in opera before Paul Potts was born, Paul has had little training, but his CD is far more listenable than Pavarotti, and what is technically correct, I don't think the opera people know, something they have been trained to listen to a certain way, maybe that is why Paul is bringing opera to more than others trained.
