I just listened to the original (for the first time) and, even though this version is very faithful to the Shangri-Las' 1966 recording, I like Agnetha's version a lot more.
It has more authority coming from a middle-aged woman with a past (especially since this performance seems to reflect Agnetha's well-known vulnerability) than out of the mouth of a teenage pop star.

She (Agnetha Faltskog) is not only a great singer with an aura of a beautiful and sensitive person - she is also a fantastic actor ("The Day Before You Came" clip notably!). She portrays melancholy and tender drama, sincerity and sadness really sublime! Also joy and warm happiness, good clean fun, but sad and deeply felt emotions is really her best expression. Incredible.

this makes me sad. Don't know why, maybe the sad sound of her voice in this video. Kinda hard to believe she used to be such a happy-looking woman in most of the ABBA clips.
