Tim's favorite musician was Bruce Springsteen. Bruce briefly talks about Tim being a part of the E Street family then goes into a moving acoustic version of Thunder Road. This was the tail end of the memorial to Tim Russert.

Theres a great canadian singer/songwriter that has the same vibe as Bruce and is pretty much unknown. And he is a rare "new" rock n roller too. just posted a video.
James Parker. Songs called Angry Young Man.
I dont see him as a "rip off" of Bruce. He's pretty unique but definately inspired by him.

Thank you so much for this dedicated song to Tim, a real person's person. HE is the one who got me interested, and I mean sincerely, INTERESTED, in politics! If TIM said it, it was sincere and unwaving. I miss you, Tim! Rest in Peace, and may the Good Lord continue to watch over you and your loved ones as HE has always done.

Springsteen has always been the soundtrack of my life too.
How disappointing that Springsteen hailed a guy who enabled our politicians and their corporate constituents to kill the USA. Tim had made 10s of millions shilling all the propaganda, pretending to care for the American people like they all do, smiling in our faces, telling us everything is just
fine all the while knowing the real story. He could have come forward, instead he chose to be part of the establishment.

Tim Russert was one of the very newcasters people who actually gave real news. Even at the presidential debate, he ask the candidate question that matter to the United States, not about one's ego.

I agree with 911insdie in some ways but I do feel Tim Russert was different. I beleive he did what he did but spoke for the people and was one who cared. My buddy sat in a bar in the Atlanta airport two years ago and talk to Tim Russert for two hours and said that he was one the nicest down to earth people he had ever met. I still love Bruce but in some ways come on he has sold out over the years but hey were all human man
