I would have voted for Elizabeth Shue. I like Susan Sarandon and would nominate her several times but I wouldn't give her a single win for any of those performances because each yer there was someone I liked better.

Meryl is so wonderful. If you look at other clips when she is nominated she is so happy for the actresses that win. When Cher won, Meryl jumped up and cheered for Cher. I'm suprised that the clip from that year has not been posted.

Have you watched Fernanda Montenegro em "Central Station"? I'm brazilian, but that's not the reason for my preference. She was GREAT. Paltrow was "ok" in "Shakespeare In Love"... But not so good like the other actresses.

They did have clips for the actors, but they were running short on time and didn't show them. This is also evident by the fact that Hanks announces the winner right away.

Yes there were clips but they are not allowed to be shown on these clips because the academy says they only have the rights to show clips of the films on the night.
