dufferdevin, you are absolutely correct! This version is the best I've found in YouTube, but I missed Gene Krupa beating his drums followed by Harry James blasting out with his horn! Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is not the Carnegie Hall recording, is it? Close -- very close -- but slightly different. I had the Live at Carnegie Hall recording 50 years ago, and I still think Sing Sing Sing is the greatest jazz music ever made! I was very pleased to read your comment.

No question about it being Benny Goodman. Indeed, both Gene Krupa and Harry James are included in his orchestra, but in this version, Harry James does not play his trumpet as well following Krupa's drums as in the Live at Carnegie Hall version. Goodman is great, but he's not the only one in his orchestra.

I've heard the Carnegie Hall version of "Sing Sing Sing" and tho it's a great performance, the recording quality is a little muddy...where does this 'really crisp' version of the song come from? What CD is it on, etc? Every time I hear this song it just sends me thru the roof!

I love this version. I wish that I could also find a video of the band playing this one. I love watching Gene Kruppa play the drums. The other versions on that I have seen on Youtube so far aren't the best ones. Thank you for posting this. I love the song.

This is the version heard on the soundtrack for the movie "Swing Kids". Awesome, huh? Usually I don't like re-makes..but this one is great! The movie is awesome too.

This is actually a modern (1993) re-recording for a movie set in the late 1930's called "Swing Kids". Unfortunately, neither the CD nor Wikipedia give orchestra info. James Horner did the incidental music, but I doubt he conducted this orchestra. But it is not the original Benny Goodman orchestra. I actually think it sounds better.
