A group of unorganized rebels can beat them when the United States is gone within 7 hours? I highly doubt that. If the rest of the world is done in 7 hours, then the USA at least lives to 10 hours; that's how good we are.

Don't forget, when the war was happening they used synths and all, but I don't think they would send a synth to a small group of rebels (there being tons of these small groups scattered across wherever hl2 is based).

Yes, but for all you know the current Combine are just like the local police. They deal with any unruly citizens. When it starts to get worse, they send in SWAT or the synths. But what about the main army? Think of the Advisers- then times their power by 3 and add the stronest armor possible. The rebels are only annoying humans with semi-weak fire power. Why should the Combine send in their best?

"THE ONE FREEMAN, TO SAVIOR OF THE WAY" Now that you think about it the aliens in half life 1 were not evil or the invasion force they were slaves fleeing the combine from Xen the death of the Nihilanth gave to combine enough time to invade earth in the seven hour war mostly using synth tanks which if one landed on your country your basiclly screwed a nuke couldnt stop these things then the combine COMPLETELY took all of our resources even the sea
