Protesters tear-gassed several times in Tacoma while opposing shipments of military equipment to Iraq. Confrontations had happened all night long between protesters and riot police. As you can see here, the police decided to gas everyone while they sung Give Peace A Chance.

That video shows what police had said after a protest in Miami. It might help explain totalitarian police mentality and why they shot at protesters in Tacoma.

i did say it was extreme did i not? and it's not just singing it's essentially breaking the law. look, both sides are wrong in this case, and neither should be held above the other. the protesters knew that their actions would have ramifications and remained obstinate despite that, and for what it's worth you should be glad that no blood was shed. maybe it was an inappropriate response to the provocation, but the fact of the matter is that a response was inevitable and the protesters knew it

but the law IS on the officers' side. look, i'm simply saying that in this situation neither the protesters nor the police should be considered right or wrong and that before people condemn then they should stop and think "why did they DO what they DID?" that quote doesn't even support your statement. congress passed the laws that gave policemen power, and so CONGRESS "violated the first F***ing amendment". the policemen did not violate any laws in their actions.
