This video was made pointing a video camera towards a television. This creates a feedback loop. Anything inbetween camera and tv will be replicated in some ways involving rotation, zooming, replication, etc.
Wow!
There is something about feedback art that is so compelling.
MUST KEEP WATCHING
YES... FEELING SLEEPY...
Those are so much cooler than my feeble attempts.
Great work.
Any tips or tricks you'd like to share?

First of all this ...( 2 years ago by drupel)
First of all this took almost a half day to create the sequence. Many trial and errors.
Now to the ingredients:
Find a noisy region on the tv screen with only 10% of white noise. Try to capture it by moving the cam. Let it grow slightly but not overflow.
Steady hand is crucial.
Try to rotate the cam without shivering.
Use manual focus if available. Crucial too.
Zoom in and out in little steps.
Defocus/Focus to create some of the effects.
Use a mirror inbetween tv and camera (feedback 1b)

If you provide the music as mp3, I would release a new version of the video. ;)

i think it was a bold choice not using a soundtrack. that decision and the images themselves remind me of many a Brakhage film.
I didn't know you could make video feed back do that.
