I am vexed why people have to compare Badlands or any other band to Zepplin, or any other band. Badlands did original music wrote mostly by Ray...in the shower most the time. You can analyze a ham sandwich but its just a ham sandwich...

was a huge fan of the debut album in highschool, hadda work so hard to convince folks, after grunge and the 90:s Gillen just sound way too much glam for me in some songs but Jake E Lee still sounds great, this is genious classic hard rock guitar playa, the last solo in this is fkn awesome, also in Devils Stomp great stuff. Can anyone tip on other Jake E Lee stuff with good solos? Checked Voodoo H, which sounded inferior, dat last record, Dusk, any good?

This is the strongest record by far.The guitar work in Rumblin Train rules.Voodoo Highway is OK and Dusk is so so... Jake rocks on it but the songs have no hooks.By the way Jake is so much better with Badlands than with Ozzy he was able to be himself and play his style of music, more dirty blues rock than heavy metal speed riffs.Ray was an awesome vocalist may he rest in peace.

Ray Gillan was NOT Ian Gillan's brother! The only relation between them is that both once fronted Black Sabbath for a very short time. Ray Gillan was replaced bei Tony Martin before the album was released, it was then rerecorded with Tony. There's some Sabbath stuff with Ray on Youtube. Check out the original version of The Shining!
