I feal your pain. I'm from montreal and during the punk rock era the U.S. ska bands use to tag along with them on tour. Now that punk is really dead, the ska sceene has vanish, even the good old places that use to hang out that put ska/punk music are fading with time. But since ska was reborn in the late 90's and now it's the time of the "cabaret" ( Christina Aguilera/Amy Whitehouse etc ) music style to be reborn, we will surelly see an other rebirth of ska in 10-15 years... I hope!

I'm sure ska will come back to life very soon, but when it comes it will never be as good as it was. it's like this with all music genres, and ska is no exeption. another genre i really miss is jazz. the best music in the world comes from jazz, but jazz got removed from the mainstream forever, for a long, long time ago. really sad.
