I wouldn't call it a rip-off per se; it's similar and borrows from John Cougar Mellencamp's "Jack and Diane" melody with the electric guitar. It has many flourishes that "Jack and Diane" doesn't have (including synthesizers), is whimsical like most pop circa 1999. Additionally, Jessica takes the song in a different direction.

I have to disagree with you Animaldrawer. There is love. Love makes the world go round. You might think of it as hormones running to our head but it is truly in the heart that makes you feel love. It does not necessarily mean love for a guy or girl. There are many kinds of love aside from a romantic love. It can be love for family, friends or country. Love encompasses everything.
