Firstly, catholics don't believe the pope is all pure and holy. We call him the Holy Father, because that's just a distinction given to him here on earth but it doesn't literaly mean he is on par with God.
Like you said the 'only real pure and holy people' you made a distinction there, 'real'.
There is also a saying 'all glory and honour to God' but it's just a saying, a lot of people honour other people, it's not the same as worshipping and you have to understand the context.
