You touched very effectively on the point I was going to make. Also, I noticed the lyrics are very simple and seem almost childlike and oddly innocent. Particularly the verse,

In Mr. E's Beautiful Blues from Daisies of the Galaxy, he does the same thing. The song has a really upbeat, catchy sound but the lyrics are really dark.
