Yes. Medvedev have no real power yet. He is really a "Putin's proxy server" :) But this is not something new. All people knew it from the beginning. We really WANT him to be a marionette. True, but I think it will take 11-15 years for Russia to become the strongest economy in Europe. And you are right, USA won't even be able to compete with Russia. USA's GDP is 13 trillions but their debt is 10! If you count their real wealth, they are poorer then Russia today. Plus USA has no resources and Russia has 55% of all world's resources. Arctic may become Russian too soon.
