i agree. Terrence was very intelligent and very experienced and obviously wanted to preach the world of psychedelics so others can experience it and realize it is not like other drugs like cocaine or heroin, but he doesnt need to be so one sided, at least he was in this instance. In other lectures hes talked about using meditation with psychedelics as a sort of guide.

I was smoking weed with my friends one night ...and it must of been laced with something because I had an out of body experiance....I was freaking out because I kept on looking at myself from across the room,I thought i was dead...but everybody around me was so stoned they didnt really notice.....NO MORE WEED FOR ME.
That was way to intense and i'll never EVER do that again.

he was asked specifically about meditation by a member of the audience in the case you're referencing. he does not practice meditation in the buddhist or dharmic way, so he doesn't talk about it. he takes drugs, so he talks about them.
one does not trip when they meditate. is being clearheaded and calm important? sure. but it's our own responsibility to get all the pieces of the puzzle together. take what he has to say and assimilate it into all other knowledge you accumulate.

If dreaming takes place In the REM state..which is a delta wave pattern.Then I can see how some people who do astral travels could use herbs like pot to enhance that feeling...assuming they are actually doing those fantastic things...could our brain waves connect to some alternate reality during REM sleep? if drugs activate the delta state when your in an alpha state then could you possibly connect to other realms that might exist at those frequencies while awake?

i'm not knocking you for not taking more drugs after that experience, i'm just throwing the possibility out there that it may not have been the drugs that caused it. i've seen plenty of weird shit while completely sober. i'm glad you're happy sober. but drugs can be healthy. many drugs are healthy. and more than that, they expand on the functionality of the human computer. i was just musing and making an observation, nothing to worry about. :)

well, you could use other canabanoids in the plant for other purposes. THC is found mostly in the buds. but, especially in the leaves, there are compounds that act mostly as sedatives and give you a 'body high' where THC is almost all 'heady' [one reason why marinol doesn't work for a lot of folks, it's too much of a head high and not enough sedative].
