What happened 20 years back, did happened again last night! Yes a fireworks malfunction at the Needle! Happy New Year!

There weren't fireworks in the early years... the lighting of the Needle was all that had been planned. I wonder who felt the need to cut away to a three-hour-old tape of Times Square... it's like they didn't think the audience would know about the time difference.
