he IS preaching the Word of God! I hear it plain as day. Just because he isn't directly quoting scripture doesn't mean it isn't directly from God! What he preaches, not just in this video, is completely evident in scripture!

remember, "The Word was God" -- the word IS God. The Bible is just paper and ink; its a tangible version of "The Word". its in written language so our human minds can comprehend it. The Bible is a way to access "The Word"; a way to access God. Another way is through testimony and fellowship with other Christians. Which is what Rob is doing.

This is why we struggle with living for GOD all the time -- because we build our God-view as an "old man with a white beard," using words like "cometh" and "goeth." What this video is reminding us is that God IS. He is not a God of the past, but a God of TODAY. God's will is in motion NOW. My job is to chose to be "in tune" with the melody of his plan.

And there are others they don't know much about the Christian faith and they can seem very in tune with the song. I have met lots of people who struggle with what it means to have a relationship with God, but they haven't lost faith in love, and hope, truth, compassion, justice, and generosity.

Part 2: That's what God's like. That's who God is. That's how the song goes. Some people know all sorts of stuff about music. They know about pitch, mode, key, and instruments. They can hear things may be other people don't. They hear subtlety and nuance may be other people don't. They appreciate things that other people miss. They also could be so caught up in the technical aspects of the song that you miss the simple pure enjoyment of the song.

2) Even if he did, it would not be a new idea--the Jews of the Old Testament had a very simple means of personal salvation without Christ. It comes from the Hebrew word "t'shuvah," meaning "to turn." We would say "repent." Throughout the prophets, all the Jews had to do was "turn" to God to be saved, redeemed, restored, and made whole. It's in the Bible.
