But it's supposed to be the same, Republic comes from the latin "Res Publica" (Public Thing) and Democracy comes from the greek "Demos Kratos" (People Power).
As there both terms used to describe a governement, can you tell me the difference between a governement that's is a "public thing" and a governement that gives people the power?

To summarize it VERY quickly:A Republic is representative government ruled by law (the Constitution). A democracy is direct government ruled by the majority (mob rule).
