I believe George Harrison was a true gentleman, as unspoiled by great success as one could be. He remained True To The School, consistently the finest overseas performer of rockabily music. I miss Carl and George equally.

If this was George's last public appearance, there's something righteous about it-George for all his wonderful incursions into world music and pyschedelia, was, at heart, a Scouser Rockabilly Cat...great post, thanks!

I'm really annoyed by that tall guys head being in the way. You figure that the cameraman would have enough common sence to move.

I was in attendance at the funeral and only fifty feet away from George. I had no idea it was taped! Thanks for bringing back some bittersweet memories concerning Carl and George.

I was pretty young in 98 so I don't remember this but I must say if I was the age I am now [almost 17 lol] I would have said well in the words of Johnny Cash 'We're goin' to Jackson' lol I live in Tennessee but really have no clue how far I am from Jackson
I love Geroge and Carl so it would have been nice to have been at his memorial.
Thanx for the lovely video

George had always ...( 7 months ago by ascoredhat)
George had always been a huge Carl Perkins fan, even before the Beatles became famous. When they briefly toyed with the the idea of having "stage names", George chose "Carl Harrison" in honor of Mr. Perkins. I'm sure the first time George got to meet Carl was to him the same big deal as when other people got to meet a Beatle.

I met Carl Perkins several times. Once at his home he offered to lend me his movie camera when mine quit working. He was a great guy. Down to earth. His Child Abuse Centers in the South are a legacy to his caring.

Is there any doubt that George Harrison was a good person and an even better musician? With George in the mix, it's not surprising why the Beatles sounded so good.

God Bless Carl and George Harrison for sharing this song with the world.
Yes, Billy Ray ...( 5 days ago by coolcat8167)
Yes, Billy Ray Cyrus was there in attendance. I was there, so I do remember BRC, Garth Brooks, Johnny Rivers, Ricky Skaggs, and many other musicians being there in the audience and on the pulpit. Ace Cannon sat directly in front of me and my wife (my g/f at the time). Sam Phillips was there also. Someone said Jerry Lee Lewis was there, but I didn't get to see him or Carl's family. I do miss Carl. He was the king of Rockabilly.
