Watch the Beatles sing about rain while enjoying a beautiful sunny day! When later asked which Beatles song featured his best drumming, Ringo said "Rain." Be sure to look for Paul's chipped front tooth!
I always loved the rain--my children would gather in the living room, sometimes with their friends, and we would read; Sometimes we would share the story [read aloud]; other times we would all read different books. Marilyn

Neither "Rain" nor "Paperback Writer", which was the flip side of the 45 rpm were released on an album until George Martin placed their 45 rpm releases on cd back in the mid 1980s. You can find them on The Beatles Past Masters Volume II.

jthaw, that's not correct. Rain and Paperback Writer appeared on the "Hey Jude" (aka "The Beatles Again") compilation album put out by Capitol and Apple in 1970.

I also think Paul's bass is also one of his finest works...then again John's lyrics and vocals...aw shit...the whole tune is a "classic in it's own way"...what else is new? The Beatles are simply..."incredible"...we can say this same thing about many, many different tunes..."simply incredible."

Beatles64...My first REAL notice of how good Paul was at playing bass is when I saw Wings from "Wings Over America tour in '76." I was 20 feet from the stage and Paul played his Rickenbacker bass which really stood out with it's distinctive sound. I heard every single note. Paul re-invented some great 1960's bass playing!!

Beatles64...I'm 55 and witnessed this whole Beatles phenomenon. I've now seen Paul 6 times. There are clips here on YT of that famous '76 tour of "Wings Over America." I've seen many, many great concerts and that concert is in the top 5 of all time (in my opinion). Every time I've seen Paul...3 hours of excellence!!! Best live song performed..."Live and Let Die."
Love, Janine
