McCartney recorded a demo of the song on 24 July 1969 when he arrived early for an Abbey Road session. McCartney sang the double-tracked lead vocal and played all the instruments: he sang and played piano on the first take, sang again and played maracas on the first overdub, drums came third and bass guitar was added last. This took less than an hour to complete

McCartney originally wrote it for a movie I've forgotten the name of... He offered to produce 3 songs (one was this song) for the movie... which I still can't remember... Badfinger, was also an Apple band...

Actually YOU mean "The Ivey's", which was "Badfinger's" original name. "Magic Christian" was the movie from which this song originated, and which co-starred Ringo. Of course, "Badfinger's" version is better, they devoted much more than an hour to its production, practically copying Paul's original exactly. And actually Paul's original version here is astounding when you consider he did it by himself and in less than an hour. You do have good taste in music!

Oh yea, they were still they Iveys when they recorded the album "Magic Christian Music", but then changed their name to Badfinger a couple days before the album was released (and Joey was chosen for the band so all four could promote the album on tour).
Ok, so the point of that paragraph was that the Iveys did record "Come and Get it"
I agree- Paul's demo is still amazing when you think of it like that.

the main reason Badfingers version siouns better is the harmonies they used, on McCartney's version there are no harmonies,besides I love all three of Badfingers voices, espec Pete & Tom.

Hello geniuses. Paul wrote this for Badfinger. Badfinger was a bad Paul manufactured and produced and sponsored -- like a junior Beatles franchise. Badfinger would not have existed without Paul's oversight and promotion.

This was just Paul so it doesn't matter. He recorded the whole song early one morning before a recording session for Abbey Road. And this song kicks ass man!
