I completed three tours in Iraq 2002-2005 and desert storm. I had young marines try to compare Vietnam and Iraq. Vietnam was a different kind of war. Better soldiers in Vietnam much better war tactics.

Vietnam wasn ´t a war. There was never declared one. Read your history. Vietnam was an extended "advisory activity". Which is the way of the US all over the world.
That doesnt mean I can´t see the tragedy of these young guys (not many college kids).
A colonial expedition going out of hand. But it was never a recognized war. And maybe that´s the reason for the abominable treatment of the vets. And everyone else coming home from that conflict, slowly sliding into mythology.
