i liked Helen becuase she was so outspoken at a time when women pop stars weren't. I really liked her music, her voice, and her message of feminism and impowerment. She was also sexy as well.

Intrigued by the previous comments here. Big fan of Helen's - doesn't matter to me one iota whether she's gay or straight or Canadian or Australian. I am a fan of her music, plain and simple. I like the way her voice sounds and I like the tunes that she sings.

It's beyond me that folks would argue over something that is obviously a very personal and subjective opinion, either way, but "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all" would apply when discussing anyone's life or art. That's my opinion, which is also personal and subjective.

I beg to differ about Sanford & Townsend. They might have been something of a one hit wonder, but this is a bloody good song, and a great live performance of it. They absolutely nailed it, if you watch the complete version posted on Youtube.
In any case, what's the big issue you have with this band? Back in the 70's there might have been lots of better bands, but compared to today's crap, this song and this band look like legends!!
