It seems that if ... ( 11 months ago by mariasman1)
It seems that if your concerns about the intentions of the leaders of Iran are true, then the only option is to move on Iran much like we did Iraq. Of course, we've learned that we would need more than 150,000 troop this time. A draft? Another trillion dollars? What do you recommend?
Complete withdrawl ... ( 11 months ago by Gunwacko)
Complete withdrawl of our troops from Afganistan and IRAQ. Move All US troops to the IRANIAN BORDER. Let Saudi Arabia have IRAQ up the the river. Give IRAN the other half on their side of the river. IRAQ will fall regardless of what we do. NO DRAFT. The "war" would be funded by the oil from IRAQ. I think my plan works.

Speaking of Saudi, ... ( 11 months ago by mariasman1)
Speaking of Saudi, weren't most of the 9/11 hijackers from there? Perhaps we can expect problems from them in the near future as well. Might as well go into Saudi as well. And then there's North Korea to contend with. Also, don't you think our troops in the region are pretty exhausted by now?
Have you considered ... ( 11 months ago by mariasman1)
Have you considered that perhaps it's not the responsibility of the United States gov't to police the world? Perhaps blowback is a reality? I happen to believe that we're dealing with problems that were caused by our interventions in past... and more intervention will cause future problems ad infinitum until we wise up.
you honestly ... ( 11 months ago by brainphreak)
you honestly believe the oil tycoons and companies like haliburton who make a KILLING off this war, would give up their money to fund it? no they want YOUR money AND the oil profits.. and thats what they are getting.
Our current ... ( 11 months ago by Gunwacko)
Our current administration (who I voted for unfortunately) has completely mishandled this war. I used to think that Michael Moore was a wacko, until I saw for myself the control that Saudi Arabia has over our country. We didn't go in to win the war, we went in under Saudi conditions that we "don't harm civilians". WAR IS WAR. You go in, destroy their ability to fight, KILL everyone who's a badguy THEN assimilate them into OUR CULTURE. That's OFF LIMITS with the Saudi Royals.
And YOU have it all ... ( 11 months ago by Gunwacko)
And YOU have it all wrong. We are dealing with a culture that wants to RULE the entire world. ISLAM will one day be the ONLY religion on Earth. Why? Because WE are too stupid to do what's RIGHT. Has NOTHING to do with our so-called "policing" of the world.
We hear that ... ( 11 months ago by mariasman1)
We hear that message from a tiny minority of islamic wackos... our foreign policy plays right into their hands... it's a fantastic recruiting tool for them.
If our military ... ( 11 months ago by mariasman1)
If our military were not established in any islamic nation and our policians did not intervene at all in the internal affairs of islamic nations, then the islamic nutjobs out there would have no influence to speak of. IT'S BLOWBACK. The answer is a return to the rule of law. Actions have consequences, period.
I was in ... ( 11 months ago by mariasman1)
I was in Afghanistan in '02. I was there to kill al quaida. I was up for re-enlistment in mid-02. I saw the writing on the wall with the escalating rhetoric on Iraq. You hit the nail on the head, though... WAR IS WAR... STOP THIS NATION BUILDING CRAP. We should have gone into Afghanistan and skinned alive all al Quaida. We should have beefed up intelligence and group operatives to find those animals, NOT spend hundreds of billions on nation building.
I want our military ... ( 11 months ago by mariasman1)
I want our military to train for and do only two things... kill the enemy and destroy their property. That's it. That's all. Marines and soldiers should be pure killers. U.S. foreign policy did empower these islamic terrorists by providing popular support among those in their culture... we should re-examine that policy, but also kill those responsible for 9/11.
Dude, u are 100% ... ( 11 months ago by Gunwacko)
Dude, u are 100% right. I think that we need to go into Pakistan and destroy it NOW. OSAMA is there and I'm sure he's looking at the nukes that they have. The nukes are one coup away.... with the MAJORITY of wackos already there to receive marching orders from their fearless leader - OSAMA!! We could stop this BS with one or two well-placed neutron bombs. BOOM. War's over boys, lets go home...
Gunwacko, I can't ... ( 11 months ago by robocar)
Gunwacko, I can't tell if you're serious with your viewpoints or you're just trolling. I hope it's the latter. Please tell me where you get the notion that Iran has ambitions to conquer the world and build an Islamic Empire, other than sensationalist network and cable news.
But let's assume ... ( 11 months ago by robocar)
But let's assume for the sake of argument that you're right and Iran starts a campaign to build an Islamic Empire. Other than Iraq, which we can all agree is a skeleton of a country, Iran is the only predominantly Shiite Muslim nation. Surrounded by predominantly Sunni superpowers like Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Egypt, do you think they would take be able to go very far? Do you think that these countries would agree to living according to Shiite tenets?
You have also left ... ( 11 months ago by robocar)
You have also left out the Al-Qaeda factor. Al-Qaeda follows a strict Wahabbist viewpoint, and as a result view Shiites as infidels, even worse than Americans. They have already started terrorist attacks on Iranian soil now that they have such a strong presence right next door.
The bottom line is ... ( 11 months ago by robocar)
The bottom line is that even if Iran DID have a capable army (which they don't) and if they DID have nukes, they are geographically too far from the US to threaten us whatsoever. They are therefore not a threat to national security, and it is not worth throwing away billions of dollars and thousands of American lives.

And now, I think we should really start paying attention and be thinking about what is going on in the government. I suppose even if he is wrong in certain areas, he certainly managed to get people interested and that is the most vital thing, that few other candidates could hope to achieve.
