This is not 100% true; some US digital channels ARE in fact VHF, both VHF-LO and VHF-HI.
Thank you for your ... ( 2 weeks ago by jellogum)
Thank you for your instructions, regarding how to build an antenna for digital television. 15 minutes later I had HD tv, a good signal nearly 35 miles from the broadcast site, in the hills of Vermont. Sand paper worked well, to speed up exposing the bare metal of the wire.
Regarding my ... ( 2 weeks ago by jellogum)
Regarding my earlier post, there is a correction: antenna is nearly 20 miles from broadcast site.

First off mad props ... ( 1 week ago by klezfire)
First off mad props on this video!!! I built one not to long ago and it works 10x better then my indoor amplified Phillips MANT 510 (Paid $40)I was constantly having to turn it and move it. With this one it sits in one spot and I never need to move it. I pick up FOX and the tower is 25 miles away. As far as a power supply no it doesn't need one. Mine is using a 50ft cable and works great!
I just got done ... ( 1 week ago by doogiediamond)
I just got done building this antenna.
I used my Dremel sanding wheel to remove the coating on the coat hangers (worked great).
I hooked it up with a 6ft piece of cable and I increased my channels from 8 to 16 channels and all of them are crystal clear like I had cable. Way cool...no more snow!!
I plan on buying a 100' coaxial cable from Lowes and try it outside where there is a better southern shot to Seattle.
I would give this video and idea 2 thumbs up!
how much channels ... ( 1 week ago by rivanar1995)
how much channels do u get?
I will build it! ... ( 1 week ago by vonijoe)
I will build it! It'll have to be an indoor antenna, but if my store-bought $40 antenna brings in a decent no. of channels, I figure this crazy wire-hanger gizmo stands a pretty good chance of doing at least as well. The metal slats of my Venetian blinds may be interfering with the signal, not to mention buildings, trees, hills, etc... but I still get several channels I enjoy.

Wamid-- Do you live also in the middle of trees, buildings, hills and such? If it works in those conditions, I will definitely build one! Cheers.

I made this antenna, and it worked as well as the one on the roof. The problem is, I still can't get UHF channels when I use the converter box for the digital tv switch coming in February. Anyone have any suggestions?

I made this antenna with #10 copper wire and got poor results, even though I'm close to the transmitters. Don't get your hopes up.
I need to ax ... ( 1 day ago by gray70)
I need to ax Comcast for their prices and minimal content - I need to go to Satellite, which wont give me any locals. I crafted this antenna in about 40 minutes. Only pulled in 3 digital channels when i placed it behind the TV. On second floor, so went out on roof and stood it up in the gutter and did a channel search again - picked up 2 more - got CBS and NBC in high def. The Oprah Show was on, and it looked as good as my high def cable box. Nifty little gadget that WORKS! when you do it righ

Oh yeah - I used a roll of galvanized wire that I picked up at Walmart - same place I got the cable connector. My CBS affiliate is only five miles away, but my NBC is 20 miles away. Was really hoping to pull in the city stuff about 60 miles away, but no dice. Perhaps if I made a huge one and placed it on the very top roof of my house it might do more. Anyway, THIS DOES WORK and if you CAN pull in some stations, you will with this. Thanks guy for your cool instructional vid.
Did you know cable ... ( 1 day ago by vikingscool)
Did you know cable or satellite that HD or digital signal are compressed that over-the-air doesn't do compressed, try it to see a differences on your satellite or cable, then you will change to over-the-air channel again. I already seen on the cable, it is look digital images with bit compressed on HD, but SD is heavily compressed I seen on the cable for locals, I can't see numbers on the players when I noticed basketball game. (note: my local channel KSTC was SD format is now 720p HD format.)
